AI Tools

The AI tools market, catalogued. 320 tools across 23 categories, each with its vendor, the vendor’s home jurisdiction, an official link, and the governance question it raises.

320 tools · 23 categories · 23 jurisdictions · 63 full profiles

In short

An AI tool inventory is the list of AI systems an organization actually uses, with enough detail attached to govern them. This catalog is the reference side of that work: 320 AI tools across 23 categories, each recorded with its vendor, the vendor’s home jurisdiction, an official link, and what the tool does. It is a checklist to inventory against, not a recommendation to buy.

Tool names link to a full SRJ profile where one has been researched, and to the vendor’s own product page otherwise. 63 of 320 carry a profile today, and more are added as they are verified rather than generated in bulk. Jurisdiction is listed because it is a governance fact: it determines which data-transfer, privacy, and cross-border rules apply before business data touches a tool. This is a reference catalog, not an endorsement list. Presence here means a tool is common enough in the field that it belongs on an inventory checklist, nothing more. For the governance discipline an inventory feeds into, see the AI Governance Reference Library, and for the vocabulary, the AI Glossary.

Frequently asked questions

How many AI tools are in this catalog?

The catalog lists 320 AI tools across 23 categories, from chat and general large language models through coding, security, healthcare, and governance platforms. 318 of the 320 carry a verified link to the vendor's official site.

Why does the catalog list each vendor's home jurisdiction?

Jurisdiction is a governance fact, not trivia. Where a vendor is based determines which data-transfer, privacy, and cross-border rules apply before any business data reaches the tool. Two tools that look identical in features can carry very different obligations once the vendor's home country is taken into account. The catalog spans 23 jurisdictions.

Does inclusion in this catalog mean SRJ recommends the tool?

No. This is a reference catalog, not an endorsement list. Presence here means only that a tool is common enough in the field that it belongs on an inventory checklist. It is not a security review, a due-diligence result, or a recommendation to buy.

What should an organization actually do with a list like this?

Use it to build an AI tool inventory: which of these are already in use, by whom, on what data, under whose contract. Most organizations discover the inventory is longer than they expected, because individual teams adopt tools without central visibility. The inventory is the input every AI governance framework assumes you already have.

How does this catalog relate to the AI Governance Reference Library?

The catalog tells you what exists in the market. The AI Governance Reference Library covers the frameworks, statutes, and regulator guidance that determine how those tools may be used, each verified against primary sources.

You cannot govern what you have not listed

The AI Business Enablement Audit™ builds the inventory, measures your organization against every framework in the reference library, and delivers a defensible governance dossier.
